Ellensburg Maternity Session // Olmstead Place Historical State Park // Ellensburg Family Photographer
The rolling grassy fields of Ellensburg, Washington create the most beautiful setting for a summertime maternity session. Emma + Colin chose Olmstead State Park to embody a more rustic and bohemian vibe for their second child’s maternity photos, a contrast from their woodsy PNW session just a couple years prior for their son.
Located on indigenous Yakama Nation lands, Olmstead Place Historical State Park was settled by the Olmstead family in the late 1800’s, which is around the time the town of Ellensburg was established. In the 1970’s the National Parks Service registered the property as historical land, and have continued to preserve it as a visitable location to this day.
The property includes a variety of historical artifacts such as wagons, transportation vehicles and agricultural tools. It also includes a few historical homes and buildings that were established back in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s and a beautiful flower garden that is maintained annually. It is a beautiful hidden secret off the side of I-90 that is worth the visit!
